FEBRUARY 2017 ARREST


Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office transported Kenneth Broussard from Huntsville Texas Correctional Facility to Prowers County Jail for a failure to comply warrant.

Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On Friday, February 10, 2017, at approximately 1215 hours, Kiowa County Sheriff’s Deputies in conjunction with the 15th Judicial Drug Task Force recovered a stolen vehicle in Eads, Colorado. Christina Herrera, Matthew Melgosa, and Aden Quiriarte-Jara were taken into custody and transported to Prowers County Jail. Drug paraphernalia and burglary tools were located inside the vehicle. Herrera and Melgosa were charged with Theft in violation of CRS 18-4-401(1)2(g) theft of property 5,000-20,000 dollars in value. Aden Quiriarte-Jara was cited and released.

On Friday, February 24, 2017 at approximately 1425 hours, Kiowa County Sheriff’s Deputies in conjunction with the 15th Judicial Task Force and Prowers County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation for the sale of illegal narcotics. Harley Mason, Sondra Mccracken, and Teka Macnees were taken into custody and transported to Prowers County Jail for the sale of Imitation Controlled Substance in violation of CRS 18-18-422.

On Saturday, February 18, 2017 at approximately 1205 hours, Kiowa County Sheriff’s Deputies served an arrest warrant in Eads, Colorado. Christopher Crow was taken into custody and transported to Prowers County Jail for Failure To Appear in court.

On Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at approximately 1215 hours, Kiowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 68000 Block of County Road J, Sheridan Lake, to locate a wanted party, Jayce Baker. Deputies located Baker and he was taken into custody. He was transported to the Prowers County Jail where he was held on a warrant for Failure to Appear out of Cheyenne County, Colorado, with a $10,000 bond, and a warrant for Probation Violation out of Hamilton County, Kansas, with a $5,000 bond.

On Sunday, February 12, 2017, at approximately 0933 hours, a Kiowa County Sheriff’s Deputy contacted a vehicle for speeding on Highway 96, at approximately mile marker 191. Upon further investigation, it was determined the driver, Campbell, Jason was driving on a suspended license. Deputies issued Campbell a summons for driving on a suspended license and speeding, 82 miles per hour, in a posted 65 mph zone.

On Sunday, February 05, 2017, at approximately 1210 hours, a Kiowa County Sheriff’s Deputy contacted a vehicle for speeding on Highway 287, at approximately mile marker 100. Landers was arrested on a failure to appear warrant out of Larimer County and transported to the Prowers County Jail.

On Sunday, February 19, 2017, at approximately 1717 hours, a Kiowa County Sheriff’s Deputy contacted a vehicle for speeding on Wansted, at the intersection with 9th street. Deputies issued the driver, Ahmon Anderson a summons to court for his speed, 60 miles per hour, in a posted 30 mph zone.

On February, 15 2017 the Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office contacted Nancy Green, 45 from Fort Collins, in connection with a hit and run. Green then fled the area, traveling west bound on state Highway 96 with speeds in excess of 100 mph.

With coordination of the Colorado State Patrol and Crowley County Sheriff’s Office, Greens vehicle was disabled by spike strips approximately 49 miles west of Eads.

Green was taken into custody and transported to Prowers County Jail where she was held on a $50,000 bond for the following charges:

Vehicle eluding (18-9-116.5), Reckless Endangerment (18-3-208), Reckless Driving (42-4-1401) and Drove motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (42-4-1301)

On February 10, 2017, John Lynch of Eads was arrested on a failure to appear warrant out of Kiowa County and held at the Prowers County Jail.

On February 17, 2017, Kenneth Widdifield of Greeley was arrested on a failure to appear warrant out of Kiowa County and held at the Prowers County Jail.

On February 22, 2017, Jessica Carr of  Pueblo, Colorado, was arrested on a failure to comply warrant out of Kiowa County and held at the Prowers County Jail.
