SEPTEMBER 2017 ARREST AND SUMMONS REPORT

On Thursday, September 14, 2017, Derrick Marcus  (DOB 05-24-1979), was arrested for multiple warrants. Marcus was transported to the Prowers County Jail. He will be held on a $1,500 bond for one warrant and $1,000 for the other.

Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On Wednesday, September 06, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding, 95 MPH, in a posted 65 MPH zone, on Highway 287. Deputies issued the driver, James Maldonado (DOB 01-25-2000), a summons for his speed.

On Friday, September 15, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding, 92 MPH, in a posted 65 MPH zone, on Highway 287. Deputies issued the driver, Logan Mccully (DOB 07-17-1998), a summons for his speed.

On Friday, September 15, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding, 97 MPH, in a posted 65 MPH zone, on Highway 287. Deputies issued the driver, Rafael Valenzuela (DOB 08-08-1986), a summons for his speed.

On Monday, September 4, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding on US Highway 287 North of Eads. Upon further investigation, Deputies discovered the driver, Oscar Franco, had a warrant for failure to appear out of Cheyenne County. Deputies took the Oscar into custody and transported him to the Prowers County Jail where he was also issued a citation for speeding 10-19 over posted speed limit violation of MTC1101(1).

On Saturday, September 16, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding on US 287 South of Eads. Upon further investigation, Deputies provided the driver, Hunter Conley, with a summons for speeding 10-19 miles per hour over the posted speed limit in violation of Colorado Revised Statute 42-4-1101(1) and failed to present evidence of insurance upon request in violation of Colorado Revised Statute 42-4-1409(3).

On Tuesday, September 19, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding 98 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone and failing to drive in a single lane. Upon further investigation, the driver, Kevin Keser, was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail. Keser was charged with Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of alcohol or drugs or both in violation of Colorado Revised Statute 42-4-1301(1)(a), Speeding 98 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone in violation of Colorado Revised Statute 42-4-1101(1) and failed to drive in single lane (weaving) in violation of Colorado Revised Statute  42-4-1007(1)(a).

On Sunday, September 24, 2017, Deputies responded to a report of a traffic accident in Sheridan Lake. Upon further investigation, Deputies issued the driver, Jose Ortiz-Carvatez, a summons for Careless driving in violation of Colorado Revised Statute 42-4-1402(1) and minor in possession of alcohol in violation of Colorado Revised Statute 18-13-122(3)(a). Alan Garcia, a passenger, was also issued a summons for minor in possession of alcohol in violation of Colorado Revised Statute 18-13-122(3)(a).
